Street Poet, The Haight, San Francisco

I love the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco; it's home to some of the most interesting characters. This gentleman was typing poems for people, for any price and on any subject. Marion Davies

Marion Davies was one of the early silent film stars of the 1910s and 1920s. She was considered to be a brilliant comedienne, but her relationship with William Randolph Hearst brought her more dramatic roles. I love her hair style in this picture. It makes me want to have short, marceled hair.

Clara Bow

If I could learn to tie my hair up with a scarf like Clara Bow in these pictures, I would be a happy woman. Alas, I almost always manage to look ridiculous when I wear a scarf wrapped around my head. But a girl can dream, can't she?

Welcome!

This blog is dedicated to old movies, glamour, and really cool fashion. It runs the gamut from classic Hollywood to the clothes people wear on the street. Because great style is not limited to the rich fashionistas we see in the magazines.
